-How to get to the Hostal :
1 - From Barajas (Madrid) airport:
a) Taxi: 25 minutes.
b) Metro: 40 minutes. In case you bring heavy luggage, take into account that you will find several stairs during the Metro trip, and this may not be the most recommendable means of transport. Otherwise, it is inexpensive, easy to use and fast. Follow the signs "Metro". When buying the tickets, ask for a plan of the Metro system. If you plan on utilizing the Metro during your stay in Madrid, we suggest you buying a "Metrobus - 10 viajes" ticket, which will allow you 10 trips in Metro or Bus, at a reduced rate.
Your trip will be: Line 8 until "Nuevos Ministerios" ---- Line 10, until "Tribunal" -- -- Line 1 until "Sol". This is: at the airport, you have to take the Line 8, until the station "Nuevos Ministerios". There, change for Line 10, direction "Puerta del Sur", until "Tribunal". There, change for Line 1, direction "Valdecarros" and get off in station "Sol", in the exit "C.Carretas". Follow the street called Calle Carretas until the end. You will be in Plaza Jacinto Benavente (Jacinto Benavente square). Go to the left, and immediately left again. You will be in the street called Calle de la Cruz. The hostal is in number 26, on the left hand side, about 20 meters down the street.
2 - From the Bus station called"Sur"(or Méndez Álvaro):
a) Taxi: 15 minutes.
b) Metro: 20 minutes. Take the circle Line 6, until the station "Legazpi". There, change for Line 3, direction "Moncloa", and get off in station "Sol". There, take the exit "C.Carretas". Follow the street called Calle Carretas until the end. You will be in Plaza Jacinto Benavente (Jacinto Benavente square). Go to the left, and immediately left again. You will be in the street called Calle de la Cruz. The hostal is in number 26, on the left hand side, about 20 meters down the street.
3 - From the "Atocha" train station:
a) Taxi: 10 minutes.
b) Metro: 15 minutos. Line 1, direction "Plaza de Castilla", and get off in station "Sol". There, take the exit "C.Carretas". Follow the street called Calle Carretas until the end. You will be in Plaza Jacinto Benavente (Jacinto Benavente square). Go to the left, and immediately left again. You will be in the street called Calle de la Cruz. The hostal is in number 26, on the left hand side, about 20 meters down the street.
4 - From the "Chamartin" train station:
a) Taxi: 25 minutes.
b) Metro: 20 minutes. Line 10, direction "Puerta del Sur" until the station "Tribunal". There, change for Line 1, direction "Valdecaros", and get off in station "Sol". There, take the exit "C.Carretas". Follow the street called Calle Carretas until the end. You will be in Plaza Jacinto Benavente (Jacinto Benavente square). Go to the left, and immediately left again. You will be in the street called Calle de la Cruz. The hostal is in number 26, on the left hand side, about 20 meters down the street.
6 - Directions for the Car Driver:
a) From any highway, follow the signs "Madrid - Centro". The most convenient way to get to the Hostal is through the street called "Calle de Atocha" (This street starts by the "Atocha" train station). Almost at the end of this street, on the right hand, you will see a small sign "Parking - Plaza Jacinto Benavente". Take right and enter this underground public Parking lot. The Hostal is at 50 meters from there.
b) Public Parking lot “Plaza Santa Ana”: Another option it to go to the Public Parking lot of Plaza Santa Ana. You should get to Plaza Cibeles. From that square, go to Puerta del Sol. At about 100 meters, the “Calle de Alcala” will take you to your left side, to the Plaza de Canalejas. There, you should enter the “Calle del Principe”. At the beginning of this street you will see the signs of the Public Parking lot of Plaza Santa Ana. The Hostal is at about 100 meters from this Parking lot.
